Franschhoek Township Tour

The Franschhoek Township tour takes place in our local community of Groendal.  Your guides are local residents who are well versed in the culture and traditions of the people of the area.

You will gain a deeper understanding of the history, culture and people that make up the Franschhoek communities but learning about the lives and how they overcome their daily struggles living in sometimes poor conditions.

The local languages of Afrikaans, isiXhosa and Sesotho will be demonstrated and you can learn a few useful phrases.

The Apartheid Struggle had a deep impact on this community and you will get to know the history and processes that took place.

Meeting the locals is always a treat and you will visit  squatter camp, a local sport centre and a shabeen for local refreshments after which you will visit a school to meet some of the youth.

Getting down to grass roots level is an eye-opening, educational experience and not to be missed.
